LINDSEY BUCHHEIT

Attorney

Lindsey obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2007. Prior to law school, Lindsey earned her bachelor’s degree in 2004 from the University of Nebraska Wesleyan, graduating with High Distinction on an accelerated three-year program, and played basketball and ran track. Lindsey worked in private practice in the Siouxland area before establishing Buchheit Law, PLC in 2013. After more than a decade as a solo practitioner, Lindsey joined forces with her law partner, John C. “Jack” Ehrich, and established Buchheit & Ehrich Law, PLC on January 1, 2025.

Lindsey is licensed to practice law in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Her practice focuses on estate planning, probate, trust administration, and family law. In 2017, Lindsey earned her certification as an Estate Planning Law Specialist (EPLS) by the Estate Law Specialist Board, Inc., an organization accredited by the American Bar Association and affiliated with the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils.* Lindsey is the only attorney in the State of Iowa with the EPLS designation. She also holds the Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) designation, has been named a Top 10 Attorney in the State of Iowa by the National Association of Family Law Attorneys, was inducted into the 2023 Great Plains Super Lawyers list (an honor reserved for lawyers who exhibit excellence in practice), and was awarded Top Ten under 40 in Siouxland Magazine in 2016.

She has served on several committees and boards for organizations throughout Siouxland, including past President of the Siouxland Estate Planning Council, past board member for the Center for Siouxland, past Secretary of Camp High Hopes, current board member for Siouxland Humane Society, and current member of the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission.

In addition to the joy she finds in guiding her clients through difficult situations, Lindsey and her husband, Dave, consider their daughters, Parker and Kendal, their greatest blessing and achievement. Lindsey’s family of four (plus their fur babies), reside in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. When not working or with family, Lindsey enjoys training for half marathons, cheering on the Nebraska Cornhusker volleyball team, and reminiscing about the glory days of her basketball idol, Larry Bird.

* The Supreme Court of Iowa does not certify lawyers as specialists and the certification is not a requirement to practice law.
