SANDRA K. EHRICH

Sandy is a native of South Sioux City and obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1973, after earning her bachelor’s degree from Doane College. She previously was a partner and shareholder at Crary Huff Law Firm in Sioux City before starting Ehrich Law Office, P.C., L.L.O. with her son Jack in 2011. Jack and Sandy joined with partner Lindsey Buchheit and established Buchheit & Ehrich Law, PLC on January 1, 2025.
Sandy was admitted to practice law in Nebraska in 1973, Iowa in 1984, and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1979. Her practice focuses on estate planning, probate, trust administration, business/corporate formations, contract law, and real estate law. Sandy served as Associate County Judge in Dakota County, Nebraska from 1973-1975, is a Past President of the Dakota County Bar Association and served as its Scholarship Chair for over 20 years.
Sandy’s civic and non-profit involvements over the years have been extensive, including serving as the first woman Chair of the Board of Directors of the South Sioux City Chamber of Commerce, board member for TeamMates mentoring program, Quota Club, and American Business Women’s Association. Sandy was the recipient of the 2007 Women of Excellence award in the category of “Women Striving to Improve the Quality of Life.” In 2002 Sandy was elected to serve on the South Sioux City Council and was re-elected in 2006, then served as President of the Council. In 2008, Sandy was sworn in as the first woman Mayor of South Sioux City, with her term expiring in 2010.
Sandy is married to Neal B. Ehrich, a retired attorney. She has one son, John “Jack” C. Ehrich (Ranee) and their two children, Brady and Audrey; and a stepson, Thomas H. Ehrich (Jayati) and their two children, Sophia and Kiran. Both Jack and Tom are also attorneys.
